Dating, Relationships & Self-Discovery
Are you dating but struggling to form lasting connections?
Maybe your relationships fizzle out after a few months, or you’re tired of one-sided connections. You might find yourself repeating familiar patterns, feeling unsure about what you really want, or struggling with loneliness.
You may crave closeness but also fear rejection, or you might feel torn between seeking a relationship and valuing your independence.
Relationships shape how we see ourselves and the world.
Whether feel anxious about relationships, experience recurring patterns in dating, healing from a breakup, or struggling with loneliness, therapy can help you understand your patterns, build confidence, and provide the insight and tools you need.

Common Concerns in Individual Relationship Therapy
✔ Attachment styles & relationship patterns
✔ Anxiety around dating or commitment
✔ Loneliness & feeling 'behind' in relationships
✔ Recovering from breakups or toxic relationships
✔ Building self-worth & emotional resilience
✔ Navigating family or cultural expectations about relationships
Therapy isn’t about finding the “right” way to date—it’s about making choices that align with who you are and what you need.
How I Can Help
Understanding yourself is key to forming healthy, fulfilling relationships. In therapy, we’ll work on:
🔹 Understanding your attachment style → Learn about your emotional needs and patterns in relationships.
🔹 Exploring fears & anxieties → Work through dating anxiety, commitment fears, or self-doubt.
🔹 Strengthening self-worth → Feel more confident in setting boundaries & choosing partners.
🔹 Finding fulfillment in being single → Discover ways to enjoy life outside of relationships.
We’ll work together to explore what’s holding you back and help you feel more secure in your relationships—whether that means dating with more confidence, understanding past patterns, or embracing being single.
Therapy sessions are offered online and in-person.
They are completely confidential and most likely are covered under your Extended Health Plan.

Therapy Approaches
I use evidence-based approaches to help you gain insights and move forward:
Attachment Theory – Understand your attachment style and how it affects dating and relationships.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – Identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns about relationships.
Narrative Therapy – Explore your personal story around love, connection, and self-worth.
Gestalt Therapy – Focus on present experiences and emotions to build self-awareness.
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) – Find practical steps to create the relationships you want.

Does My Insurance Cover Counselling?
If you have extended health care benefits (such as Blue Cross, Sun Life, or another provider), you likely have some coverage for counselling with a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your specific coverage. Many providers list coverage details on their websites.
After each session, I’ll provide you with a receipt that includes all the necessary information for reimbursement, as required by your insurance provider.

Why Private Therapy Is a Better Choice Than Subscription Platforms
Subscription Therapy Platforms ❌
🔹 Inconsistent Providers – You may get matched with a different therapist each time.
🔹 Varying Qualifications – Some platforms assign coaches or interns instead of licensed therapists.
🔹 Recurring Subscriptions – You’re charged monthly, even if you don’t use the service.
🔹 U.S.-Based Privacy Standards – Not all platforms follow Canadian privacy laws.
🔹 Limited Flexibility – You can’t easily adjust frequency or pause without fees.
🔹 Limited Services – No couples therapy or specialized approaches.
Why Choose Private Therapy? ✅
🔹 Consistent Therapist – You work with the same therapist every session.
🔹 Expert Care – A highly qualified therapist (CCC, RP Qualifying) helps you.
🔹 No Subscriptions, No Hidden Fees – Pay per session—no long-term commitments.
🔹 Canadian Privacy & Security – Fully compliant with Canadian laws, unlike many U.S. therapy apps.
🔹 Flexible Scheduling – Book therapy when you need it, at your pace.
🔹 Couples Therapy Available – Many platforms don’t offer couples therapy.
