Below are our frequently asked questions related to online psychotherapy and counselling services.

  • We offer 50-minute and 75-minute sessions, corresponding to one or one and a half therapeutic hours.

  • Sessions take place in person in Vancouver and online over secure video platform - Zoom Health. They are 100% confidential and privacy protected (PIPEDA-compliant).

  • Upon booking your initial session, you'll be prompted to enter your credit card details. While this information will be stored securely, your card won't be charged immediately.
    After your session, the stored card will be automatically charged, and an insurance receipt will be sent to your email.

  • Certainly! After you book an appointment, you will get email reminders. You can also choose to be reminded via text messages.

  • If you have extended health care benefits (such as Blue Cross, SunLife, or another insurance), you may have coverage for psychotherapy or counselling services with a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) or a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) (RPQ). I encourage you to check with your insurance provider to confirm if these services are included in your plan.

    After each session, I will provide you with a receipt containing all the necessary details for reimbursement, as required by your provider.

  • To reschedule a session, log into your client profile:https://discovertherapy.janeapp.com/ . There you can easily look through my schedule and find a new time.

    Note that I require at least 48 hours notice to reschedule a session. If your session is less than 24 hours away, please use this form.

  • You can cancel a session by logging into your profile: https://discovertherapy.janeapp.com/ . There you will find a list of your scheduled sessions, and you can easily cancel any that you need to.

    Note that a session time is booked just for you, so I require 48 hours notice to cancel a session. I bill for sessions cancelled with less notice, and for missed sessions. If you’re sick, are dealing with an emergent situation, or need to cancel on short notice, please use this form.

  • There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to this question. You might reach your therapy goals in 6 to 12 sessions, or you might need longer. You might then take a break or you can see a therapist for as long as you need support. Once you’ve reached your therapy goals, we will discuss the next steps. This might involve adjusting visit frequency or pausing therapy until you need support again.

    Many clients choose to continue working with me as new challenges emerge, while some prefer to address additional issues outside of therapy. There isn’t a right or wrong approach; together, we can explore what feels best for you and help you make the choice that suits your needs.

  • I am located in Vancouver, BC. I am domiciled in Canada - this means all my professional practices and regulations align with Canadian standards.
