Therapy for Retirees
Supporting Your Transition Into a New Chapter of Life
Retirement can be a time of freedom—and uncertainty. Whether you’ve just left a long career, downsized your home, or are adjusting to changes in routine and identity, this transition can bring up unexpected emotions.
You might find yourself wondering:
What’s next for me?
Why am I feeling anxious or low when this is supposed to be a “happy” time?
How do I stay connected and fulfilled without the structure of work?
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Retirement is a major life change, and like any transition, it comes with both opportunity and challenge.
Elena Kuzmina, Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)
How I Can Help
In therapy, we create a space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions with curiosity—not judgment. I help retirees:
Adjust to a new identity outside of career roles
Cope with anxiety, grief, or depression related to aging or life changes
Strengthen relationships with partners, adult children, or social circles
Rediscover purpose and align your days with what matters most to you
This is your time—to reflect, heal, and shape what comes next
My Approach
I bring a warm, conversational style to therapy, grounded in compassion and curiosity. Together, we’ll work to:
Understand what’s really behind the discomfort or emotional weight you may be carrying
Develop practical tools to manage stress, sadness, or disconnection
Help you create a life that feels meaningful—even as the landscape changes
Whether you’re thriving but seeking clarity, or struggling and not sure where to turn, you’re welcome here.

Affordable and Confidential Support
Does My Insurance Cover Counselling?
If you have extended health care benefits, you likely have some coverage for counselling with a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) or Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your specific coverage. Many providers list coverage details on their websites.
After each session, I’ll provide you with a receipt that includes all the necessary information for reimbursement, as required by your insurance provider.
